A Hamadryad

The museum presents a wide range of culturally diverse exhibitions and displays held in the main building of the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery. They are to be found in the many galleries on the ground and first floors of this building.

The varied programme of exhibitions includes touring exhibitions from other organisations, exhibitions mounted in partnership with other museums and similar institutions.

Like most museum and art galleries the Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery is unable to show all of its collections at one time. Therefore there are changing exhibitions and displays themed around the permanent collections including the fine and decorative art collections, natural history collections and human history collections.

There is a regular train service to Plymouth from around the region and beyond. The station is reasonably close to the main Plymouth City Museum & Art Gallery. It is about 10-15 minutes walking distance (follow signs to University, Library and Museum). Alternatively, there is usually a good taxi service from a taxi rank immediately in front of the station - around 10 minutes drive depending on time of day.
